The Universities’ Scheme 2021 Challenge
The UGLE Universities’ Scheme has challenged all of its 80 plus member Lodges to take part in a walking team relay, covering the length and breadth of England and Wales. The challenge set is to visit every Masonic venue where a Scheme Lodge meets, and in so doing complete an appropriate 2021 miles, as Freemasonry emerges from what has been a unique 2021(and 2020).
The planned route for Durham and Northumberland Scheme Lodges is that Universities Lodge will walk from Durham to Newcastle on Saturday 10th July where the team/cup will be received by Northumberland masons. On Sunday 11th July members from Northumberland including Scheme Lodges Hotspur Lodge & Duke of Connaught Lodge, will walk from Newcastle to Wallsend and then to Sunderland, on a route of approximately 17 miles where the team/cup will be received by Mowbray Lodge and Durham masons.
