Service & Charity
Service and Charity are essential pillars of Freemasonry, and we are committed to supporting a variety of charitable causes. Throughout the year, we organise fundraising activities in our social events and we work closely with the Provincial Grand Lodge of Northumberland, the Masonic Charitable Foundation, and non-masonic charities to provide support where it is most needed. We believe that it is our duty to give back to society and make a positive impact on the world.
Teddies for Loving Care is a registered not for profit Masonic charity which raises funds to provide teddy bears to Childrens’ A&E Units, Hospital Wards and Walk In Centres in Newcastle and Northumberland. The bears help NHS Staff calm children while they are being examined and treated.
8-year-old Joshua has severe allergies and is anaphylactic to multiple foods. He has been given two teddies for his bravery in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Newcastle and they don’t leave his side. He has them with him for comfort and takes them on holiday with him. They have helped Joshua get through some difficult times and his mum is so grateful. One is red, the other is yellow (Mack and Shady)
